From 3 to 4 March 2026, approximately 30 researchers, clinicians, engineers and innovators from the POC4TRIAGE Consortium gathered in Uppsala, Sweden for the POC4TRIAGE Annual Meeting and the first project review meeting. This important milestone provided an opportunity to assess progress, discuss current challenges and define priorities for the next project phase.
The POC4TRIAGE project aims to develop and clinically validate four innovative point-of-care diagnostic devices for use in ambulances, emergency departments and intensive care units, where fast and reliable decision-making is essential. The reviewers provided highly positive feedback, recognising the consortium’s significant progress and potential impact, and offering valuable recommendations to further refine the project’s focus.
During the meeting, partners also took part in hands-on training organised by the Ambulance Service in Region Uppsala. Experiencing prehospital workflows in and around a real ambulance provided valuable insight into the practical needs of emergency teams. This helped to translate technical requirements into real-life use cases, reinforcing the importance of developing solutions that are practical and reliable in critical situations as well as innovative.
