POC4TRIAGE-shEEG kick-off ambulance phase

The European POC4TRIAGE-shEEG project was officially launched on 23 July 2026 at the Witte Kruis ambulance station in Alkmaar. As part of this study, the newly designed ‘shEEG sticker’ to be placed just below the hairline will be tested on stroke patients by ambulance staff. The ultimate aim of the shEEG-patch is to ensure that patients with a specific type of stroke, a large vessel occlusion, are taken directly to the correct hospital. This will enable them to receive appropriate treatment more quickly.

Following previous successful collaborations between Amsterdam UMC and the ambulance service (including the AI-STROKE study), we are very much looking forward to this new study and are already eager to see the results!
